How Too Much Soda Slowly Destroys Your Body

Drinking too much soda, which is loaded with added sugar, can slowly wreak havoc on your body. As the following info-graphic from Rodale demonstrates, it can negatively effect your body with more than just tooth decay. Drinking just one soda a day increases your risk of metabolic syndrome by 36 percent while your risk for diabetes rises 67 percent. One 12 ounce can of coke contains 39 grams of sugar while their 20 ounce bottle weighs in at 65 grams of sugar. The amount of added sugar that you should consume on a daily basis should not exceed 38 grams for men and 25 grams for women.
