3 Great Careers For Fitness Fanatics

If you’re a fitness enthusiast then you’re probably hitting the gym or going running every day before or after work, but is that enough for you? Do you spend all day sitting at work just counting down the seconds until you can leave and go workout? If that’s the way you feel then maybe you should consider finding a job that involves your passion for fitness so you can enjoy your days rather than wish them away. It sounds like it’s too good to be true but in reality, there are plenty of great careers in the health and fitness industry that are perfect for you, these are just some of them.

Personal Trainer

This is the one that you’ve probably thought of already. The most straightforward way to find a job that involves working out is to be a personal trainer. You can spend all day at the gym helping other people with their workouts and get paid for it at the same time. The best way to become a personal trainer is to get qualified by the International Strength Training Association before looking for openings at the local gym. Be aware that a lot of places operate a system that is quite similar to a hairdresser where you will pay a fee to the gym for the day and then you take whatever money you earn from sessions. That’s great if you’re giving sessions all day but if you haven’t got anybody booked in, you could end up losing money. It’s all down to you and how well you promote yourself.

Nutritionist

Exercise is one half of a healthy lifestyle, diet is the other half. Anybody that is interested in fitness knows that without a proper diet, the exercise isn’t going to cut it. That’s why nutritionists are important because they can help you to create a tasty diet that gives you everything your body needs. If you aren’t dead set on a job that involves working out but you still want to get involved with the fitness world then why not consider becoming a nutritionist? Once you’ve trained as a nutritionist you’ve got quite a few different options for careers. You can be a self-employed nutritionist and find clients that need advice or you could even work in a hospital.

Sports Coach

If you’re into sports then obviously being a player on your favorite team is going to be your ideal career but that doesn’t look likely I’m afraid. That doesn’t mean you’ve got to give up on the dream of working in sports completely though. If you train as a certified sports coach there are all sorts of opportunities available for you. If you’re lucky then you might be able to work your way up to the top teams but before that, there’s plenty of opportunities at local level in high schools and colleges. Depending on where you’re applying for jobs, some people might expect you to have a bachelor’s degree but if you don’t want to do that there are still options available to you.

These are just 3 of your options for a great job in the health and fitness industry.
